2 sought in nonfatal shooting of Detroit store clerk
Police are looking for two men allegedly involved in an altercation with a store clerk that left the employee with a nonfatal gunshot wound earlier this week on the city’s west side.
The men, called “persons of interest” by police, entered a store around 4:40 a.m. on the 18300 block of West Eight Mile and began speaking with the clerk on duty, police said.
“Shortly after, the 22-year-old male (clerk) retrieved a gun, opened the door and came from behind the partition,” police said. “Person of interest No. 1 then produced a gun, fired at the clerk and fled along with person of interest No. 2.”
The two persons of interest disappeared, traveling southbound away from the location, police said.
The first person of interest is described by police as a 5-foot-10 man with a medium complexion. He was wearing a blue hoodie and pants. The second person of interest is 5-foot-8 with a dark complexion, police said. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
