Driver arrested after police chase, crash in Detroit
A 20-year-old Inkster man was arrested Friday after fleeing Michigan State Police troopers and crashing what turned out to be a stolen car into a home on Westphalia near Eight Mile, authorities said.
Troopers were eastbound on McNichols about 2:25 a.m. when a white Chrysler Sebring sped past in the opposite direction.
The car turned north onto Goulburn, and then turned west onto Greiner, running a stop sign, state police said. When troopers tried to pull it over, the driver sped up.
After a short chase, he turned onto Westphalia and lost control of the car, which crashed into a house in the 20500 block. The driver was caught after a short foot chase.
State police say the man had numerous warrants and a suspended license.
