An unidentified man was found dead and his body was set ablaze on Detroit’s east side Tuesday morning, police said.

Calls to 911 came in about 12:30 a.m. that there was a fire in the middle of the street on Adeline between Bauman and Ralston — south of State Fair, east of Woodward.

After firefighters extinguished the fire they found a man’s body had been torched, said Officer Shanelle Williams, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

Police aren’t sure if the man, whose identity and age remain unknown, was killed in some other way or by the fire. There is no suspect description yet, Williams said.
