Police: 1 hurt in Detroit shooting; suspect sought

Detroit police are investigating a shooting that wounded one person Tuesday night on the city’s north side.

The victim reported being struck while standing outside near Veach and Savage at about 8 p.m., said officer Jennifer Moreno, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

Medics transported the person to nearby St. John Hospital & Medical Center. The victim’s condition was not known.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

Investigators do not yet have a description of a suspect, Moreno said.
