A 54-year-old man is in critical condition after being stabbed at a bus stop on Detroit’s east side Saturday night, police said.

The stabbing took place about 10 p.m. on the 7000 block of East Jefferson, said Officer Jennifer Moreno, a Detroit Police Department spokeswoman.

The man was standing at a bus stop in front of a Big Boy restaurant when an unknown assailant approached him and stabbed him multiple times, Moreno said.

Police do not have a description of the suspect, and aren’t yet sure if he approached the man on foot or got out of a vehicle first.
