Detroit police are working to find a man accused of breaking into a school and stealing a computer on the city’s east side.

The suspect broke a window to enter the building in the 11200 block of Kercheval at about 5:30 a.m. Oct. 3, investigators said in a statement.

“School security was alerted to an alarm at the building and called police when they discovered the break in,” the release said.

Surveillance footage that authorities released Monday shows the man searching around two desks, then rummaging in an office.

If anyone recognizes him, knows his whereabouts or has information relating to the break-in is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-5540 or (313) 596-5551. Anonymous tips can also be left through the DPD Connect app or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
