2 hurt in collision on Detroit’s east side
Detroit police are investigating what led to a two-vehicle collision Monday on the city’s east side that left both drivers injured.
Preliminary reports showed that a Honda CR-V was traveling south on Gratiot near Glenfield at about 4:18 p.m. when it crossed the center line and struck a semi headed in the other direction, said Officer Shanelle Williams, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.
The impact of the collision hurled the 25-year-old Honda driver against the windshield, Williams said. He was hospitalized in critical condition Monday night.
The driver of the semi also was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was listed in stable condition late Monday, Williams said.
The cause of the crash was not yet known.
