A man was found fatally shot on Detroit’s west side early Sunday morning, police said.

The man’s body was found slumped over the wheel of a 2002 Red Chevy Tahoe at about 3:40 a.m. Sunday in the area of Scotten and West Warren, said Jennifer Watson, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

Circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown, Watson said.

While Watson said police know the victim’s age, they’re not releasing it at this point, more than 24 hours after the shooting.

However, the Wayne County Medical Examiner says the victim is 25 years old. His autopsy is on Monday’s docket.
