Detroit police are seeking tips to find a driver connected to a fatal hit-and-run accident on the city’s west side this week.

A 60-year-old man was crossing the street in his motorized wheelchair near Livernois and Lyndon at about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday when a dark blue Dodge Durango “struck him and fled the scene,” investigators said in a statement.

The man, whose name has not been released, died.

To generate tips, authorities on Friday released surveillance images of the car, which has a Michigan license plate number CMN 3238.

“The vehicle was driven by an unknown black male suspect,” police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Fatal Squad at (313) 596-2280. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the DPD Connect app or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
