Detroit police are investigating the death of a man found shot on Thanksgiving near a medical marijuana dispensary on the city’s west side.

A witness flagged down an officer about 7:45 p.m. to report a person had been shot outside the Kush Mart shop on Livernois near Desoto, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department.

Investigators found the man, who was dressed in all black and had a mask covering his mouth, with several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, then transported to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police still are working to learn his identity. He is described as African-American, age 25-30.
