Man linked to kidnapping, death in police custody
A man is being questioned by police in connection with a kidnapping and death that occurred Wednesday in Detroit.
The man, whose name wasn’t released, was detained Thursday afternoon after police discovered the victim’s body in a van on the city’s northeast side.
The victim wasn’t identified and the cause of death wasn’t released.
The incident began Wednesday night when a man was abducted from Von’s Market, a liquor store in the 14000 block of Greenfield Road, said police.
Police learned Thursday morning that the victim was missing and were tipped off the victim might be at a home in the 17000 block of Marx Street, they said.
Police put the home under surveillance and, when two people left the house and got into a van, the police stopped the vehicle and found the body.
The case remains under investigation.
