Police seek 3 in smash-and-grab from vehicle

James David Dickson, The Detroit News

Detroit police are asking for the public’s help finding three men they say broke into a vehicle last month on the east side.

The break-in occurred on Nov. 21 at about 4:45 p.m. outside a grocery store on the 16700 block of Harper, said Officer Jennifer Moreno, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

Detroit Police are seeking three suspects, including two they say are pictured here, in the break-in of a vehicle at a grocery story on Harper.

Police say they believe the three individuals came to the grocery store together and walked around for several minutes. Then they went outside and a suspect broke the window to a red 2002 Ford Escape and took what was inside before leaving in a silver car, which police say might be a Buick.

The Buick has a temporary tag on its back window, police say, and has either black rims or no rims on its front tires. There is also accident damage or rust on its front right fender.
