Missing 1-year-old in Detroit returned to mom

The Detroit News

A 1-year-old boy missing since Christmas Day when his father picked him up in Detroit has been returned safely to his mother, police said Monday.

Logan Tucker

“The father returned the child to the mother and he is definitely safe now,” said Detroit police Officer Nicole Kirkwood, a department spokeswoman.

Logan Tucker had last been seen with his noncustodial father Gregory Tucker, 27, around noon in the 19400 block of Grandville. Tucker was expected to return the child to his mother at 5 p.m. Christmas Day but failed to do so, police said. The boy’s mother had made several attempts to contact Tucker but had been unsuccessful.

Monday night, the Detroit Police Department issued a statement saying that no charges were pending against the father for parental kidnapping. "However, an investigation is being conducted to determine if charges will be brought against the mother for making a false felony police report."
