Detroit police probe alleged sex assault of girl, 5
Detroit — Police are investigating an allegation that a 5-year-old girl was sexually assaulted this week on the city’s west side.
Police were called to the 14000 block of Archdale after the child reported during a gathering Monday night that she had been sexually assaulted, Officer Dan Donakowski said.
The girl claimed the act was committed by the brother of her mother’s boyfriend, Donakowski said. She was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
Meanwhile, the older man has not yet been found or questioned, Donakowski said. Other details were not released.
An investigation is ongoing and authorities were still gathering the facts Tuesday night, he added. “We have to see if this actually took place.”
