Detroit police continue to search for a man who allegedly raped a good Samaritan who had stopped to help him.

According to Detroit police, the woman was at the CVS on Woodward and Webb when she saw a man standing by a older-model burgundy Buick and waving her down. She stopped, believing he needed a jump, police said. When she stopped to help him, he produced a gun and forced his way into her vehicle passenger.

Police say he forced her to drive to an abandoned house at Third and Collingwood and raped her. He then fled on foot.

The woman called 911 and she was hospitalized in stable condition.

“There is no suspect in custody at this time,” said Officer Jennifer Moreno, a Detroit Police Department spokeswoman.
