A 39-year-old woman was killed early Friday in a single-vehicle accident on northbound Interstate 75 in Detroit.

Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw said excessive speed caused the crash, which happened near the ramp of eastbound I-94.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, Shaw said.

The accident happened at about 4 a.m.

The woman’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
