Detroit homicide detectives are investigating after a 63-year-old woman was found shot dead in her bathroom tub Tuesday on the city’s west side.

It was about 2:30 p.m. when medics responded to a 911 call on the 16700 block of Asbury Park, which is south of McNichols and east of the Southfield Freeway. There they found a white female, shot, laying in a bathroom tub with no water in it, with clothes on.

A handgun was nearby.

Medics transported the woman to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Detroit police took two white male suspects, 66- and 40-year-old men, into custody. Their relationship, if any, with the slain woman is “uncertain” in the early stage of the investigation, said Officer Nicole Kirkwood, a Detroit police spokeswoman.
