Man fatally shot outside auto parts shop

An unidentified man was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of an auto parts store on Detroit’s west side, police said.

The shooting took place in broad daylight on the 9300 block of Hubbell at Ryan’s Pick-A-Part, north of Joy Road and east of Greenfield.

The suspect, identified only as a black male, wearing a black jacket and gray pants, and armed with a handgun, was spotted walking into the shop before leaving the store and shooting the victim multiple times. Police believe the victim is between 25 and 30 years old.

While he was down, the victim was run over by a customer who was attempting to flee the shooting, police said.

Police say the suspect left the scene in a gold Oldsmobile Alero.
