Woman charged with robbing, assaulting Detroit man, 90

A 50-year-old Detroit woman was charged Thursday in connection with the armed robbery and assault on a 90-year-old man, also a city resident.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Betty Mae Clark with the incident, which allegedly occurred around 2 p.m. March 11 in the elderly man’s home. He suffered nonfatal stab wounds and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Clark was charged with assault with intent to murder, two counts of felonious assault, armed robbery and larceny in a building. Clark was arraigned Thursday in 36th District Court before Magistrate Bari Blake Wood. Bond for Clark was set at $500,000 cash.

A probable cause conference for Clark is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. March 23. Her preliminary examination is scheduled for 9 a.m. March 29, both before 36th District Court Judge Lydia Nance Adams.
