Police say the victim, the 21-year-old man, was armed with a handgun when he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. Once inside, he was fatally shot multiple times by the woman’s brother, 32. The man was declared dead at the scene, according to Detroit police.

Both handguns were recovered on scene, police say, but what became of the alleged shooter was not immediately known.
