Man shot in Palmer Park

A 41-year-old man was shot in Palmer Park, early Sunday morning and is in temporary serious condition, police said.

A 41-year-old man was shot in Palmer Park,early Sunday morning and was left in temporary serious condition, police said.

The shooting took place in the park, just north of McNichols and along Woodward, at 4 a.m., said Officer Jennifer Moreno, a Detroit Police Department spokeswoman.

The victim reported to police that he “heard shots and felt pain.”

The man was standing outside of his car when hit, Moreno said. He then drove himself, in his white 2015 Ford Flex, about two miles east, to the 1600 block of East McNichols, before calling 911.

Medics took him to a hospital, where he was in temporary serious condition at last report.
