Detroit police are seeking tips from the public to find a car connected to a homicide reported on the city’s east side this week.

A 35-year-old man was found dead and burned at about 5:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 14600 block of Alma, investigators said in a statement.

Authorities learned the victim’s rental vehicle, a white 2016 Toyota Camry with the Florida license plate 003JPN, was stolen from him.

“If anyone sees this vehicle, please call 911,” police said in the statement. “Do not approach the vehicle.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit Police homicide detectives at (313) 596-2260 or leave a tip on the DPD Connect app. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers of Michigan at (800) SPEAK-UP.
