Drive-by shooting kills man walking down street

Detroit police are trying to identify a victim fatally shot Saturday night on Detroit’s west side.

The  shooting took place 10:50 p.m. on the 16000 block of Ardmore, which is north of Fenkell and west of Schaefer,  as the unidentified, was walking down the street when a gold Jeep Cherokee pulled up.

The suspect, described as standing somewhere between 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall, and wearing a dark hoodie, exited the Cherokee, approached the man, fired shots, then got back in the vehicle and escaped, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit Police Department spokesman.
