A 48-year-old man is in serious condition after responding to a late-night knock on his door on Detroit’s east side.

Police said two men knocked on a door on the 19100 block of Cheshire, just off of Moross in the 5th precinct at about 11 p.m. Monday. The victim opened the door and was met by two men in hoodies, said Michael Woody, director of media relations for the Detroit Police Department.
