A 58-year-old man is in critical condition after being stabbed Monday night on Detroit’s northwest side, but has refused to cooperate with the police investigating the case.

It was about 9 p.m. when police were dispatched to a gas station on the 19000 block of Telegraph, south of West Seven Mile, on a report that a man had been stabbed.

Police “tried to determine who stabbed him, but the victim was very uncooperative,” said Michael Woody, director of media relations for the Detroit Police Department. All the man would tell police is that he had been stabbed, that someone had attacked him from behind.

Medics took the man to Botsford Hospital, where he was in critical condition at last report.

Police are investigating, but have yet to find the scene of the stabbing, Woody said.
