Man shot in neck while sitting in car on east side

A 26-year-old Detroit man was shot in the neck on the east side while he waited on a friend Saturday night.

At 9:30 p.m. on the 18000 block of Brinker, which is north of Nevada and west of Joseph Campau, the man was sitting in his black 2012 Chrysler 200 waiting on a friend when a man approached, demanding his cell phone and money, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit Police Department spokesman.

A 26-year-old Detroit man was shot in the neck on the east side while he waited on a friend Saturday night.

After robbing the victim, the suspect shot the man in his neck, then fled on foot.

The man was privately taken to an area hospital, where he is in stable condition at last report.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, slim build, with a mustache and a goatee. He wore a black Nike hoodie and was armed with a handgun.
