Tips sought in armed robbery at SW Detroit bakery

The Detroit News

Detroit police are working to find a suspect wanted in an armed robbery last week at a bakery on the city’s southwest side.

Surveillance footage that investigators released this week shows the person pointing a gun at a clerk inside La Rosa Bakery — formerly known as Supreme Bakery —on the 5400 block of Proctor and demanding money about 11:45 a.m. Friday.

The suspect, wearing a blue hooded jacket, is seen taking cash from the worker over a glass counter, then running to the exit once the cash register had been emptied.

Authorities did not disclose how much money was stolen.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information is asked to call Detroit police at (313) 596-5440.
