Man found fatally shot near car with Mississippi plates
A man was fatally shot next to a car with Mississippi plates early Monday morning on Detroit’s west side.
The shooting was called in about 1:30 a.m., and police made the scene about a half-hour later, said Dontae Freeman, social media manager for the Detroit Police Department.
At the intersection of Pilgrim and Kentucky, which is east of Wyoming and south of Puritan, police found the victim shot. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The man’s identity is unknown to police, but he’s believed to be in his “mid to early 40s,” Freeman said. The man was found shot next to a red Chevy Trailblazer with Mississippi plates, Freeman said.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
