The Lodge closed in Detroit through weekend
Detroit — The Lodge freeway closed in both directions between I-75 and Jefferson Avenue starting at 9 p.m. on Friday.
Officials with the Michigan Department of Transportation announced that northbound and southbound M-10 closed between I-75 and Jefferson Avenue for the demolition of the pedestrian bridge over M-10 near Fort Street.
Some ramps will reopen Monday at 5 a.m. and others could take as long as the end of August, MDOT officials said.
Ramp closures include:
■Northbound and southbound I-75 ramps to southbound M-10 ramps (will reopen Monday)
■Northbound M-10 ramp to northbound I-75 (will reopen Monday)
■Northbound M-10 ramp to southbound I-75 (will reopen by late August)
■The northbound I-75 ramp to northbound M-10 (will reopen this fall)
The weekend ramp closures are a part of an overall interchange project MDOT is investing in to make repairs to the interchange.
The project will cost $3.6 million and construction is expected to be completed this fall.
