A dispute between housemates early Sunday morning on Detroit’s east side led to a stabbing that left one woman in critical condition and another fleeing the police.

The stabbing took place about 1:20 a.m. on the 12300 block of Laing, east of Kelly and south of Morang.

The landlord, a 37-year-old woman, returned to her home intoxicated, and began to argue with her tenant, said Dontae Freeman, social media manager for the Detroit Police Department. She told the woman to move out, and an argument between the two ensued.

The landlord then allegedly armed herself with a knife and stabbed the victim, before fleeing in a red Chevy Equinox. The victim was privately conveyed to an area hospital, where she was in critical condition at last report.
