Murder charge dismissed for man in girlfriend’s death
A judge dismissed a first-degree murder charge Friday against a Detroit man in the death of his girlfriend last month.
The charge against Willie Wilborn, 29, was dismissed by Judge Kenneth King after a preliminary hearing in 36th District Court, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said. King found there was insufficient evidence to send Wilborn to trial in the death of LaDiamond Myers, 24, whose body was found June 29.
“We are working with the police to get the necessary evidence to re-issue charges against Willie Wilborn in (the) homicide of Ms. Myers,” assistant county prosecutor Maria Miller said in an email.
When Wilborn was charged earlier this month, the prosecutor’s office said he had been in a “domestic dispute” with Myers.
