Detroit teen reportedly kidnapped found safe
A Detroit teen who was reportedly kidnapped and thrown into the trunk of a car earlier this week has been found safe, a Detroit Police Department spokesman said Saturday.
Jaylon Wilson, 17, was seen being grabbed in the 7300 block of Westwood by three men Tuesday and thrown into the truck of a car around in broad daylight, police said. Witnesses say the teen was grabbed by the wrist and ankles and put into the vehicle, which was headed toward Evergreen.
Detroit Police spokesman Michael Woody said a statement will be released later in the day after details about the boy’s recovery are sorted out.
“We have a lot to get through in terms of the investigation,” Woody said Saturday.
Police at the time said Wilson was seen with three men in an older-model silver Chevy Impala or Malibu. A woman was driving. He was reportedly taken from the side of a home in the neighborhood.
