Cops: Suspect seen fleeing after man shot on east side
Police transported the victim to the hospital in a cop car
Detroit police are on the lookout for a man seen running away from the scene of a shooting on the city's east side late Sunday night.
The shooting took place about 10:55 p.m. Sunday on the 11000 block of Findlay, said Dontae Freeman, social media manager for the Detroit Police Department. That's south of East McNichols and east of Conner.
Police responded to a call of shots in progress in the area, and saw a man running away. He's described as a black male with light skin, standing 5-feet-8-inches tall, 180 pounds, and armed with a handgun.
While the suspect couldn't be found, police soon found the victim on the side of the building, wounded, having been shot on the left side of his body. They put him into a police car and transported him to an area hospital.
