Detroit police investigate fatal hit-and-run on southwest side
Detroit — Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision Sunday on Detroit's southwest side that claimed the life of a 53-year-old Detroit man, officials said.
The incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. in the area of Junction and Federal streets, according to Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit Police Department spokesman.
The victim, a white male, was walking in the area when he was struck by a vehicle, Donakowski said. He was pronounced dead at the scene and police have no further information on the man, the officer said.
Police have no information on the suspect or the suspect's vehicle, but Donakowski said witnesses told investigators the vehicle may have been white.
