Police: Man orders pizza, gets shot instead
A 49-year-old Detroit man was shot in the back and robbed inside his west-side home early Tuesday while waiting for a pizza to be delivered, police said.
The shooting took place about 12:40 a.m. on the 8100 block of Robson, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit Police Department spokesman. That's north of Tireman and east of Greenfield.
The victim told police that he had ordered a pizza and later, two men showed up: one of them a tall black male with curly hair and a mustache, the other a short black male wearing all black.
When the victim answered the knock on his door, the suspects rushed inside the property, took his money, and shot him in his back.
Police say there's a possibility the incident was drug-related. The victim was listed in serious condition Tuesday morning.
