3 of ‘interest’ sought in Detroit fatal shooting
When the Fire Department was called Jan. 8 to extinguish a SUV fire, they responded and doused the blaze.
What they found once the fire was extinguished, however, has the Detroit Police Department calling for the public’s help.
The body of a 36-year-old male was discovered about 2 a.m. inside the 2007 white GMC Yukon on the 10200 block of East Outer Drive on the city’s east side. Police said Sunday the victim was found with a gunshot wound.
Police now are asking for the public’s help in locating three whom the police have described as persons of interest in the fatal shooting and have released a video from the scene. Investigators say they believe the three may have information about the crime.
Once person of interest, a black male wearing a dark-color hat and coat, white shirt and dark pants, was driving a white sedan; another, a black male, was wearing a dark-color coat and jeans. A third person of interest is a male who was driving a black conversion van, police said.
Police ask anyone with information on the males, the vehicles or the crimes to contact the Detroit Police Department Homicide Unit at (313) 596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
