Person of interest sought in Detroit double shooting
Detroit police are seeking a person of interest they believe has information on a fatal shooting last month on the city’s west side.
Investigators learned the shooting stemmed from a fight that erupted during a gathering in the 19300 block of W. Seven Mile about 11:05 p.m. Dec. 23.
When a 30-year-old attendee was asked to leave, someone opened fire, striking him and another person, police said in a statement.
The first man was treated for non-life threatening injuries, but the other victim, identified only as a 28-year-old, later died, according to the release.
To help solve the case, authorities on Wednesday released images of a man they said might have details. He was filmed crossing the parking lot of a Green Light gas station across the street from the shooting scene.
Anyone who recognizes him or has relevant information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
