A Sunday morning shooting involving two brothers may be accidental, Detroit police said.

The shooting took place about 6:20 a.m. at a home in the 8000 block of Rolyat on the city's east side, south of East Outer Drive and east of Van Dyke.

Police say the victim, a 16-year-old boy, walked into the bedroom of his 19-year-old brother while the older brother was "handling his weapon" and it "accidentally discharged," according to police. The teen was hit in his right forearm and ran out of the house in pain.

After being taken to a hospital, he was listed in stable condition.
