It was just before 5 a.m. when the Detroit Fire Department responded to a call about a vehicle fire in the 100 block of Forman. That's north of Interstate 75 and east of the Rouge River. After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters found the man's body, burned, in the trunk of a 1997 Toyota Tercel.

Medics declared the man dead at the scene. The Wayne County Medical Examiner is now working to identify the victim and determine the cause and manner of his death.
