The developer of a $30 million high-end condominium development planned for Midtown will begin pre-sales this week.

The Platform will open its sales gallery Friday in the Fisher Building for the development known as Cass & York.

Lisa Nederlander of Max Broock Realtors called it a “game-changing development for the city and its real estate market.”

The six-story, 53-unit development will be at Cass Avenue and York Street in Midtown’s New Amsterdam Historic District, also known as TechTown. Construction is expected to be complete in the spring of 2020.

It’s in a neighborhood that’s home to the Henry Ford Health System, Wayne State University, Junction 440 Co-Working Community, Next Energy and Shinola, as well as the future Pistons Performance Center and Henry Ford Health Systems Center for Athletic Medicine.

Residences will range from studio to three bedroom with an average of 1,422 square feet. Unit pricing is expected to begin at $430 per square foot. That works out to $600,000-plus.

Among the features are a 24-hour staffed grand lobby, clubroom, health and fitness center, a raised interior courtyard and a rooftop deck with a pool. There will also be an outdoor plaza and an attached 550-space parking garage.

Exterior renderings show a white-brick façade, which developers say is “a modern interpretation of a historic material palette of glazed terracotta, brick and limestone.”

Leasing is available for the 13,621-square-feet of retail space planned for the ground floor.

The development includes rehabbing the Albert Kahn-designed former Cadillac LaSalle Service Center building for office and retail.

The Cass & York condos are part of The Platform’s larger plan that includes mixed-use and mixed-income components, developers said.

“We are committed to building developments for everybody, from all walks of life,” said Peter Cummings, executive chairman for The Platform.

The design architect and architect of record are Detroit-based firms VolumeOne Design Studio and McIntosh Poris Associates, respectively. The Monahan Co. will be the general contractor.

The sales gallery will feature a model kitchen and bathroom as well as a scaled building model. Hours are 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. daily except Wednesdays.
