A 35-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot twice inside his home on Detroit's west side Monday night, and police believe an acquaintance may have shot him.

The shooting took place at a home on the 20200 block of Plymouth Road at about 10:20 p.m. Monday, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit police spokesman. That's east of Rouge Park.

The suspect, who police say is as an acquaintance of the victim, showed up at the home but couldn't get in, so he fired shots from outside. Two of them struck the victim, one in his left rib, the other in his right hip.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with light skin. They are looking for the suspect as the investigation continues.
