Police: Man, 71, shot in argument over money
A 71-year-old man is in temporary serous condition after being shot in the wrist Sunday morning at his apartment in what police say was a dispute over money.
The shooting took place about 12:55 a.m. at an apartment building on the 15000 block of West Seven Mile, which is west of the John C. Lodge Freeway, police said.
The suspects, a 60-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, were allowed into the apartment by a friend of the victim, but once inside the man and the victim began arguing over money.
Police describe the man as bald, with a mustache and a dark complexion. He wore a black jacket, dark pants, tan Timberland boots, and carried a semi-automatic handgun.
The woman is described only as being about 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing a black jacket.
At some point the male suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim in his left wrist, before the two fled.
Medics transported the victim to a hospital, where he's listed in temporary serious condition.
