Detroiter charged in alleged pot deal homicide
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has charged Tyrone Anthony Walker, 34, with first-degree murder, felony firearm and firearms possession by a felon in what investigators believe is a drug deal turned violent.
Authorities say the Detroit man fatally shot Travaughn Rox, 20, on Jan. 27 at about 4:15 p.m. on the 5000 block of Coplin. That's north of East Warren and west of Chalmers.
Walker allegedly chased him and then shot him multiple times once he caught him.
Authorities allege that Walker and Rox were meeting for a marijuana transaction.
Walker was arraigned Saturday at the 34th District Court in Romulus and was ordered to be held without bond. He'll be at Wayne County Jail until his case is decided.
He is due in court on Feb. 14 for a probable cause conference and on Feb. 22 for his preliminary exam, both before Judge Deborah Lewis Langston at the Wayne County Third Circuit Court.
