Police: 3 steal pills, safe from 8 Mile pharmacy

Detroit police are investigating after a trio crashed into a pharmacy on Eight Mile, then allegedly stole a store safe and "numerous bins of pharmaceutical drugs" early Saturday morning.

The smash-and-grab took place about 1:40 a.m. Saturday at Buckley's Pharmacy on the 15000 block of East Eight Mile, which is just east of Gratiot.

Police say three black male suspects pulled up to the store in a tan Chevy Tahoe and crashed through the front window. Once inside, they stole a small safe and bins of prescription drugs before fleeing. 

Police offered descriptions of the suspects. The first is a black male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build. He wore a blue jacket and black pants.

The second is a black male, ranging from 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He wore a gray hoodie and gray pants.

The third is a black male ranging from 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He wore a read jacket and blue jeans.

Footage of the incident may be made available Monday, police said.
