Detroit Police seek suspects in non-fatal shooting, robbery
A Detroit man is in serious condition after being shot in the leg during a robbery early Friday morning on the city's east side, police said.
The shooting happened at about 2 a.m. in the 11300 Courville near Kelly Road and Hayes Street, said Dontae Freeman, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department.
Police said the victims, a 38-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, were in a vehicle that pulled into the rear of a home on Courville Street.
Two suspects, dressed in all black and armed with a handgun, approached the victims on foot, according to police.
Investigators said when the victims attempted to flee, one of the suspects fired a shot and struck the male victim in the right leg.
The suspects then removed some items from their vehicle, a Jeep Liberty, and fled.
Police were called and the injured victim was taken to the hospital. The female victim was not injured.
