Police: Man killed in 8 Mile hit-and-run

Detroit police are looking to identify the driver of a black pickup truck who is accused of fleeing after fatally striking a man early Sunday morning on Eight Mile on the city's west side.

The incident took place about 1:25 a.m. in the area of Eight Mile and Rosemont, which is west of the Southfield Freeway.
The victim, identified only as a black man in his 50s, was hit as the pickup truck headed eastbound on Eight Mile from the far left lane.
The victim wore all-black clothing; the pickup did not stop after the crash.
Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police are investigating.
