Funeral services have been set for three women killed last week in a standoff between a barricaded gunman and Detroit Police officers.

A memorial service and public viewing for Barbara Ann Williams, 71; her daughter, Cynthia Ann Williams, 51; and her sister, Patricia Wilson, 62, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the New Greater Zion Hill Baptist Church, 18891 St. Louis, Detroit.

The funeral service for the three women will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Greater Zion Hill Baptist Church.

The women were fatally shot last week during the 14-hour standoff with Lance Smith, 49, at a home on Lamont Street near Outer Drive and Mound Road. The standoff ended when he fatally shot himself.

The incident began Sunday night with an argument between Smith and his girlfriend, Cynthia Ann Williams, according to police. The reason for the argument wasn’t known.

The two other women came to the home to help Williams and were shot, police said.

A neighbor reported the shooting to an off-duty school police officer, who approached the home and also was shot. Two Detroit Police officers were also wounded in the incident. All three police officers survived.

"The Williams and Wilson Family seek your prayers during this time," family members said Monday in a statement.

They also said a Williams and Wilson Memorial fund has been set up at the Comerica Bank branch located on Mound at Eight Mile.
