Two men were shot early Tuesday morning at a bar on Detroit's east side, and one of them has been arrested for his alleged role in the incident, police said.

The shooting took place about 12:41 a.m. on the 16000 block of East Warren, said Officer Holly Lowe, a Detroit Police Department spokeswoman. That's east of Alter Road.

Trouble started when security at the bar asked the suspect, a 42-year-old male, to leave. Police say that the suspect's girlfriend then handed him a gun, and he started shooting.

At least one of those shots hit a 37-year-old black male in his right leg. His condition was not immediately available.

Police made an arrest when the suspect turned up a time later at an area hospital, having been shot in his buttocks. He is listed in temporary serious condition. His girlfriend has not been located or arrested. Police are investigating.
