A 26-year-old man was shot in the shoulder Saturday afternoon, and a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion he pulled the trigger after the two had an argument over money on Detroit's west side.

Police said the shooting took place at 5 p.m. on the 8000 block of Auburn, which is just north of Tireman and east of Evergreen.

Police believe the suspect and victim met and argued over money and the argument escalated to violence. Both men produced handguns and exchanged gunfire. The victim, the 26-year-old man, was shot in his shoulder before being privately taken to a hospital. He's listed in temporary serious condition.

The suspect has been arrested, and is lodged at the Detroit Detention Center pending charges.
