A 28-year-old man was killed in an early Friday morning single-vehicle crash on Detroit's west side, officials said.

Crime tape.

The crash happened at about 2:08 a.m. near Joy Road and Abington near the Southfield Freeway, said Detroit Police Officer Dan Donakowski.

Officials are not releasing the identity of the victim. Donakowski only said the driver was an Arabic male.

Police are investigating the crash, he said. It appears the vehicle, a gray 2016 Chrysler 200, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a building, according to police.

Donakowski said it's not yet clear if there were other factors in the collision.

The vehicle rolled over and landed on its roof, police said.

Firefighters had to extract the driver with the jaws of life, they also said.
